News March 2007

RiskSpectrum PSA development Status

The fourth generation of the industry's most popular fault- and event tree analysis tool - RiskSpectrum PSA - will be released this year.

The new version has been developed under the working name "RS32". It replaces RiskSpectrum FT and PSA Professional and will be distributed free of charge to all licensees with support agreements. For more information about the news in this version, follow the link to news November 2006.

More than 30000 man-hours have been spent since 2003 in the development and we are now beginning to see the light in the tunnel as we are approaching the end of the internal formal testing period.

During the tests more than 100 bugs have been found and most of them could be fixed without any major effort. There are however a few that have caused us some trouble. We are working on fixing them, but they require taking a few steps back and force us to redesign some parts of the code.

This means that it is at this stage difficult to set a release date, but our initial estimate for second quarter 2007 will probably not hold.

We wish to express our gratitude to those of our licensees that have contributed to the development by beta testing the release candidate from January 2007. - Thank you very much!
