Bayesian Update for RiskSpectrum Licensees

RELCON's Managing Director, Jerzy Grynblat and Prediction Technologies Inc Founder, Ali Mosleh, agreed that cooperation between the companies for the development of seamless communication between R-Dat and RiskSpectrum would be pursued.

RELCON has always had in its plan to include a module in RiskSpectrum for collecting and analysing reliability data. When investigating what other software of this kind were available, RELCON came across R-Dat. R-Dat is Prediction Technologies Inc (PTI) response to the need for a comprehensive fully Bayesian software package for collecting and analysing reliability and risk data.

R-Dat provides virtually all the Bayesian analysis capabilities that one typically needs in support of risk and reliability assessment of complex systems. Among its features is the capability for developing the so-called generic distributions for various risk and reliability parameters based on different types and sources of information (e.g., operating data, expert opinion).

"Realising that Dr. Ali Mosleh is behind this software and after an Internet presentation by Frank Groen from PTI we decided to meet with Ali and Frank at the PSAM 7 conference in Berlin 2004", says Jerzy Grynblat.

"We immediately agreed that cooperation between the companies for the development of seamless communication between R-Dat and RiskSpectrum would be pursued. Today the technical and design specifications on how the software will interact with each other have been outlined, and RELCON and PTI experts have started coding. Starting with RiskSpectrum (.NET-version) it will be possible to open a parameter in R-Dat, analyse and update data using all features available in R-Dat, and then save the changes to the RiskSpectrum database".
